Smithbridge Group is a proudly 100% family-owned business with over 60 years of history, celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2024.
Founded by John Smith, the business was built on strong values and hard work, and later expanded by the second generation, Albert Smith.
Today, under the leadership of Managing Director Albert Smith, the third generation, Dashelle, Ben and Joe, play active roles across governance, operations and the ongoing development of the family business to honour the family legacy.

Over this time, Universal Cranes has grown to become one of the largest crane hire companies in Australia and New Zealand, supported by a highly skilled and experienced team. Our specialists deliver safe, efficient, and reliable lifting solutions across a wide range of industries, backed by national capability, local expertise, and a shared fleet that ensures the right crane is available when and where it’s needed.

Multi-discipline contracting, crane and heavy equipment rental, aggregate, ready mix concrete, and pre-cast concrete. Smithbridge Guam has been a can-do construction contractor on Guam and surrounding remote islands for 30 years.
